Tuesday, June 26, 2007 - Day of Action Activities

This Week opened with a government-operations hearing on Resolution 909, a bill introduced by Bill Perkins and Margarita Lopez opposing the infringement of civil liberties in the name of national security. Dennis Kucinich sent in a statement against the Patriot Act, as did Bob Barr.

A new movement is growing in America, Groups like the NYBORDC which organize against the Patriot Act have coalitions of almost Hundreds, and new organizations such as The Loyal Nine are working their way up the ranks, becoming leaders of what seems to be growing into a national movement. The Loyal Nine Presents: FALL2FREEDOM 8 Days, 5 Cities, 1 Fight End The Patriot Act

Introduction: The Loyal Nine has dedicated itself to uniting the cities of the nation in the fight against civil injustice. September 19th-26th marks an 8 day, 5 city protest we call “FALL2FREEDOM”. Kicking off in Huntington, NY on August 15th 2003, The Loyal Nine has been quickly spreading. FALL2FREEDOM is not only a protest against The Patriot Act, but a demonstration to the nation that The Loyal Nine has encompassed the Northeast.
