Read the "Family Jewels" documents [1]
New documents released through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) show extreme misconduct by the CIA in both foreign and domestic affairs. These documents have been referred to as the “Family Jewels [2]” because of the surreptitious and questionable activities they describe.
The “Family Jewels” documents span a period from the 1950’s to the 1970’s outlining an immense domestic spying program including illegal spying on domestic peace groups, attempted assassinations, drugging unaware American political dissenters, illegal wiretaps, break-ins and mob ties.
The “Family Jewels” documents have just been released a few days ago but the FOIA request that requested them was filled 15 years ago. On top of that, whole sections of the 703 page report are censored out, leading questions to how many other injustices are still being covered up.
